Cinderella Story...

Tomorrow will be the second of two rounds of golf I've played in the last two years. It's going to be ugly...

I've gone to the range a few times this year and managed not to hit any shanks. Yet. I'm tempting fate by even writing that word, "shanks," but I'm not a superstitious moron, as I've explained before.

I'm hoping to shoot in the mid-80s. That's a reasonable number given the course I'm playing and the state of my game. At least they sell beer on the course, so if it's not looking good I can purchase some "aiming oil."

But if you want the real Cinderella Story, click here.

Down in DC, otherwise I would have called you, pal. Gotta hit the road now.

I loved that William Penn post, Brian. Of course, if you don't do well in DC, you will know that just having mentioned that story put Penn in a foul enough mood to pursue you all the way down to Washington.

William P., the Quakers these days are all about non-violent communication--at least they are in Santa Cruz, judging by the number of workshops they give here. And no, throwing decades long curses on people would not be on their approved list.

Seana,

My round provides further evidence that William Penn was not, in fact, a vindictive man. I played pretty well considering how rusty my game is.

Or perhaps Penn's beyond-the-grave reach does not extend as far south as Washington, D.C.

Well done, in any case.
